Designs & Meanings

Butterflies among the cherry trees

Loving life, freedom

Veronica requested an Asian styled tattoo for her foot, with butterflies and flowers. The hi-res image contains two versions of it: the upper one has a date and a letter hidden inside, whereas the lower one has not.The butterfly symbolizes freedom and transformation, and the cherry flowers symbolize the "carpe diem", living every moment as if it was the nicest and the last: cherry flowers actually have a very short life, but while blooming very few things can match their beauty.A curiosity: this philosophy of living every moment without fears, caring not for death either, totally, is also at the basis of bushido, the codex of samurais, who often used the cherry flowers as their symbol on account of this.

Healing lotus

Relief

Kristine requested a tattoo to symbolize overcoming adversities and new birth. The lotus flower, blooming high over the muddy waters it is born in, symbolizes this. The adversities in this case are chronic pains, pictured as the burning fire the lotus blooms out of. It´s a suffered, non linear conquest, which will take her to healing, like a butterfly, transformed and free. The lotus flower hides a twist in its petals to symbolize the love of her dear ones, who will always be there to help her.

Lotus on fire

Perfect eternity

Fire represents change, life, and the spiral in the middle of it wants to symbolize the eternity of life, its continuity and perfection, as symbolized by the lotus flower, as well as overcoming difficulties.A tribute to freedom is contained in the stylized seagull wings formed by the upper left petal of the lotus flower and the nearby small flame.Designed for the base of the neck.
